THE UNIVERSITY OF MALAGA RECEIVES A GRANT FROM THE NATIONAL SPORTS COUNCIL OF SPAIN

The grant will be used to cover the costs of the necessary sports equipment for the smooth running of the event

The University of Malaga will host the European University Beach Championships organised for the first time by EUSA. In this way, a Beach Handball and a Beach Volleyball championship will be held, which translates into extensive needs in terms of infrastructures, material and production.

Thanks to the call of the Consejo Superior de Deportes (National Sports Council) for the subsidy of international events at university level, it has been possible to obtain a grant to cover the costs of this great international event.

This grant will be used to cover the costs of sports equipment such as scoreboards, sound equipment, fencing of the playing field, tents, loudspeakers and microphones, among others. It is also worth mentioning that this grant will contribute to the needs in relation to the medical area and the offices that will be set up. Therefore, the Organising Committee will also use part of the money to buy materials such as first-aid kits, thermometers, pulsometers, blood pressure monitors, otoscopes, desks, tables or flags, for example. Finally, the equipment for the protocol ceremonies, including the stages, the signage, etc. is also noteworthy.

The European University Beach Championships Malaga 2023 are a unique opportunity to show hundreds of European students and their universities the benefits of our land, our organisational capacity and the importance of sport in the integral education of students and the internationalisation through sport, as established in the 4th Strategic Plan of the University of Malaga.
