Electricity and plugs: electricity supply in Spain is AC 220 volts, 50 Hertz. Sockets meet European regulations and use the round pin system. Make sure that the electrical appliances you are going to use (computers, mobile phone chargers, shavers…) work at this voltage, or that you bring the correct adaptors.

Tap water is drinkable throughout Spain. We have stringent control systems that guarantee water quality. Nevertheless, in some Mediterranean coastal areas consumption of bottled water is widespread.

Safety in Malaga

Malaga in general is a very safe city and perhaps one of the most hospitable places to visit in the world, but that doesn't mean you should let your guard down: petty crime exists, mostly around tourist landmarks and crowded places such as bus and train stations, airports or shopping centres. Keep a close eye on your belongings in such places.

 

Do's and Dont's

  • Do not leave bags on the ground or on the backs of chairs. Make sure you have it attached to you or something.
  • Do not leave valuable objects visible in pockets, holdalls or on tables.
  • Do close it, fasten it, zip it up or hide it.
  • Do be aware when making cash withdrawals.
