On 16th of March, the European University Sports Association (EUSA) hosted an online seminar for representatives of the Organizing Committees of the European Universities Championships 2023.
The main topic of discussion of this seminar was the update of the on going organisational process, as well as presenting the future steps.
This meeting was started with the welcoming words and presentation from the Secretary General of the European University Sports Association (EUSA), Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, who gave a recap of the activities of EUSA in the past few months, update on the registration process, decisions regarding the championships, as well as some recap of the numbers of registrations received by now.
Mr Pečovnik also updated the present representatives on the various decisions made by EUSA Executive Committee, the EUSA solidarity fund for Ukraine, and used the opportunity to once again share the opportunitiy of becoming associate members of EUSA and the benefits around it.
The floor was then given to EUSA Sports Manager Mr Miha Zvan, who took the attendees through the registration procedure and gave an overview of the entry procedures, the registration status for each sport, as well as an update on the available spots and important next steps in the process.
Following to present information and important future steps related to the Media and Promotion of the European Universities Championships was EUSA Communications Officer Ms Hristina Hristova who spoke about the minimal and additional requirements regarding the websites and social media channels, giving examples of good practice and examples of possible promotional activities and tools.
Next to talk about the importance of volunteers was EUSA Communications and Project Manager Mr Andrej Pisl, speaking about the importance of involvement of international volunteers, EUSA volunteering program, the obligations of the hosts, the expectations of the volunteers, also covering possible areas of working tasks for the selected candidates.
Mr Pisl also gave an overview of the registration and accreditation process, pointing out different roles of different stakeholders in the process and information about the general entry priorities. Regarding the accreditation process, he presented about the required data for the accreditation as well as taking the attendees through the different steps in the accreditation delivery process.
Next on the agenda was the presentation about the result management system, the operational key points and the list of EUSA representatives that are going to be taking part of each European Universities Championship, including also the foreseen next steps and specific tasks, given by EUSA Sports Manager Mr Miha Zvan.
The meeting was then concluded with the final address on behalf of EUSA Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik and the questions and answers part.
