The Beach Volleyball Championship, as one of the sports in this years European Universities Beach Sports Chamionship has finally concluded on September 24rd with an exciting Closing Ceremony at the main court in Rincon de la Victoria's Beach in Malaga.
A number of 130 participants coming from as many as 41 universities from 21 countries took part in this year’s edition of the event.
Exciting matches on the beautiful beach courts in the Rincon de la Victoria Beach in Malaga, great energy, lots of spectatiors, great athmosphere and before everything fair play, great sportsmanship and fun was what marked this Beach Volleyball competition this year.
At the Closing Ceremony, Mr Francisco Murillo, Vice Rector for Student affairs and sports of University of Malaga, Mr Antonio José Martin Moreno, Counsellor for sports of the city of Rincon de la Victoria and Mr Bruno Barracosa, EUSA SCAC Chair for Beach Volleyball, congratulated all the participants for the great results and thanked them for the participation.
On behalf of EUSA, Mr Bruno Baracossa gave a special token of appreciation to all volunteers involved and thanked them for all the hard work done throughout the championship.
In men’s finals, the title of champions went to Vytautas Magnus Univrsity (LTU) who won a thrilling final match against the University of Graz (AUT). The bronze medal was for Eotvos Lorand Univrsity (HUN).
In women’s finals, the title of champion/s went in the hands of Lithuanian Sports University (LTU) who played and won an exciting final match against the girls from University of Vienna (AUT). Third place on the podium was reserved for University of Warsaw (POL).
The medals and awards were presented by Mr Francisco Murillo, Vice Rector for Student affairs and sports of University of Malaga, Mr Antonio José Martin Moreno, Counsellor for sports of the city of Rincon de la Victoria and Mr Bruno Barracosa, EUSA SCAC Chair for Beach Volleyball.
The individual awards were presented by Mr Anton Fichtinger, EUSA Technical Delegate for Beach Volleyball.

In the women’s competition, the MVP award went in the hands of Gerda Grudzinskaite from Lithuanian Sports University while in the men's competition the most valuable player was Patrikas Stankevicius from Vytautas Magnus University.
In the men's competiton, the Fair-Play award was given to German Sport University Cologne and in the women's competition it belonged to the fair-play award was given to Sumy State University (UKR).
The beach of Rincon De la Victoria, was a home of an energetic, fun, exciting, competitive and full with sport values competition throughout the 5 days. Athletes, officials, visitors were able to enjoy and create another great memories on the sand courts in Malaga. The medals and awards, are just one sign of the great results this championship has shown.
EUSA gives a special appreciation and thanks to the European Handball Federation, to the Spanish University Sport Committee (CEDU), to University of Malaga, the municipality of Torrox, to the Organisational Committee and to all volunteers for the great work and the great championship.

The next Beach Handball competition will be part of the sports programme at the European Universities Games in Debrecen-Miskolc 2024, so we invite all the athletes to join and compete, next year.
